ACC's Canticle Choir meets in the Arts in Action studio at 2658 Main Street in Hurricane on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Children in grades three through nine are invited to join.

Cost for the Canticle Choir is $450 for the year which runs from September through May. Tuition may be paid in 10 monthly installments of $45. Financial aid is also available to those who qualify.

ACC also has a new preparatory choir for children in kindergarten through second grade. Rehearsals will also be at the Arts in Action Studio on Wednesdays and will be from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. Registration is currently taking place and will continue through the end of September. The program will run from September through December and January through May. Each semester will be $150.00 which is basically $10.00 a week. Finanical aid will be availble for those who qualify.

Both choirs are directed by Ms. Ilse Long. Ms. Long has a master's degree in music education from Boston University and an undergraduate degree in music performance from the University of Charleston. She is also pursuing a doctor of musical arts. Ms. Long lives in Hurricane and directs the Hurricane High School show choir.

Enrollment for both choirs is currently taking place. Auditions are required for Canticle choir; however students do not need to have a piece prepared. New students will attend rehearsal first and audition afterward. Auditions are a friendly and positive experience for every child and are simply a way to gauge the child’s vocal ability.
