Cantare Choir

For boys and girls in grades three through eight

ACC's Cantare Choir, located in Southern WV, was established in the 2008-09 season. ACC saw a need for a satellite program in southern WV and thus Cantare was born. All of our satellite choirs follow the same program principles as the Charleston choirs.

In this level, children have demonstrated the ability to sing in parts. The initial goal is to secure a good unison sound in the ensemble. They will then sing in rounds and then in two and three parts when ready. Tone development and vocal techniques are stressed and music literacy is introduced. The children will sing in different languages.

The Cantare Choir will have at least four concerts in 2011-12: ACC's Christmas Concert in Charleston at the Clay Center; a Christmas Concert in Logan; a spring concert at the Southern WV Community and Technical College in Logan: and, ACC's Spring Concert at the Clay Center.

Tuition for this choir is $450 for the season.

Families may arrange to make monthly payments. Financial aid is available to families who qualify. Funding has been provided by the Logan County Charitable and Educational Foundation and by the Clay Center.
